RagingBid Partners With Bid-Bob to Make Members Whole

Earlier this afternoon, Scott Matthews, CEO of popular and well-loved penny auction, RagingBid.com, announced that "Score Marketing and Promotions (SMP), dba RagingBid.com, in partnership with Bid-Bob.com, will be honoring the bid balance of all Bid-Bob customers with a 6-1 ratio."

On Feburary 1st, Bob MacReynolds, CEO of Bid-Bob.com, announced the suspension of operations and that, while all owed wins would be shipped out, they were unable to refund the bid balances of their customers. This caused much hub-bub in the community, both on the PennyBurners Penny Auction Forum and on PennyTalkRadio (find the Podcast here), where Bob requested an opportunity to answer the questions/concerns of his customers. Everyone with bid balances was angry, and rightfully so.

While the skeptics may have more to grumble about for one reason or another, we applaud penny auction site owners who find a way to work together for the betterment of the industry and community, and we do so here.

We asked Scott Matthews why RagingBid decided on the 6 to 1 bid ratio, he said:

We chose a 6 to 1 ratio because we understand the dynamics of the economy and that each site has a different value in bids. At RagingBid we run many different multipliers on paid bids and free bid promotions that are exciting for all of our regular members. We also understand with all of the promotions and multipliers that this creates inflation in our auctions. Many people feel that it is harder to win at RagingBid; however, members have many more bids to use.The decision on the 6 to 1 ratio was based all of these facts and that we want to give the bidders an equitable and fair value for their bids. We will be honoring all bids. We feel that the members that may have participated in a promotion or received bids for enrollment are entitled to the same value as any other member at Bid-Bob.

RagingBid Turns 2! Celebrate This Weekend!

Today is Hump Day (AKA "Wednesday") and a very special day for RagingBid.com and all of their bidders.

Today’s promotion is the start of the invitation process for the Big Blue Birthday Bash.

Yes, that’s right, Big Blue is turning two!

The promotional bids multiplied based on the size of the bid pack or packs that you purchase during the day.

If you purchase a 750 bid pack your promotion bids will multiply X4.

RagingBid Launches Bid for Tots/Secret Santa Promotion

Today is a very special day on the farm! Today is the day that RagingBid.com launches a promotion that will carry through the Christmas holidays – Bids For Tots. They had a lot of success last year with this promotion, so this year, they wanted to make it even better.

Knowing how large the herd has become at RagingBid, they wanted to start their version of Toys For Tots combined with a Secret Santa promotion for the kids in need this holiday season.

Here’s how the promotion will work: there will be Secret Santa’s (Sponsors) and Little Elves (Kids). RagingBid members will send in names of children from their immediate family that are in need. Sponsors will sign up to bid on toys during the holiday season for these children.

RagingBid will randomly match Secret Santa’s with the children in need. When a Secret Santa wins a “Bids For Tots” specially marked auction, RagingBid will send out the won auction to the child in need then also send the Secret Santa a Big Blue gift card in the amount of the won auction (rounded to the nearest $25.00).

RagingBid will inform the Secret Santa’s of the child or children that they are bidding for; however they will not disclose who the Secret Santa’s are and who they are bidding for. They only want “MEMBERS” to submit children from their “IMMEDIATE” family because they don’t want a stampede and kids to be left behind.

For today’s promotion, members that submit names of children will be get 100 free promotional bids. Members that sign up to be Secret Santa’s will get 250 promotional bids.

MLB Play-offs Promotion

It’s the start of the playoffs for major league baseball. So we have made an ongoing promotion just to make it more exciting so we want you to pick the winners of the first four games, then the two division winners and then the World Series winner. The promotion will award you with 100 promotional bids for each team that you pick correctly, bids will be rewarded the day after each game. To make things even more fun if you purchase the minimum bid pack (50 bids) we will multiply the 50 promotion bids 4. Here’s where you can rack up some big bids, if you buy a 50 bid pack we will multiply your all your winning picks X2, and if you buy a 75 bid pack we will multiply all of your winning picks X3 and if you purchase any bid pack over 125 we will multiply all of your winning picks X4. So if you were to buy a 125 bid back and pick all of the games correctly you would receive 2,400 promotion bids. The membership is free because it is still in the development stage.

We also want you to try to guess the scores of each game and this should be fun. The member that picks the closet scores for all four games combined in the Division Series will get a $50.00 Stub Hub gift card. The member that picks the closest scores for the Championship Series will get a $75.00 Stub Hub gift card and the member that picks the closest score for the World Series will get a $100.00 Stub Hub gift card. If there is a tie in any one of the picks we will combine the selection from the previous series to select the winner.

Don’t miss out on the newest program on the farm it’s called “Piggy Pass” and they only run twice a day.

The Piggy Pass will be an auction that pops up throughout the week and members will have a chance to bid and win a Piggy Pass. The way it works is that you can apply your Piggy Pass to any auction that you lose and get 100% of the bids that you bid on that auction returned back to your account. Piggy Passes will be rare and hard to get, but for those members that go after large ticket merchandise they will be pennies in the bank. Don’t miss out!
