Yesterday afternoon, the owners of much-loved penny auction site, Doofard.com, announced with heavy hearts that Wednesday July 27th would mark the last day of live auctions.
This closure is not based on any financial problems, but rather, due to personal and health reasons. Doofard stated that they "would not be able to provide the level of service" that they and everyone else expect. We spoke with Doofard today, and they stressed the importance of reassuring all bidders that ALL winning items will be shipped out, and that they have the funds to cover the cost of operations until everyone is made whole.
Doofard.com will be running auctions until close of Wednesday, July 27th. They can only refund bids purchased via My Account - Buying Bid Packs. They will calculate the paid amount and refund those bids. The others are impossible to calculate. Bidders cannot exchange auctions for bids or others credits. so what you bid on is what you get, excluding gift cards. Bidders can exchange gift cards as always. The daily win limits will stay the same and Doofard states that they will put up some reserve gift cards on Wednesday. The monthly win limits will not be applied.
Many bidders were saddened by the news of this closure, as Doofard quickly rose to popularity in their short time being open. In fact, they have remained in the #1 position of Top Three Penny Auction Sites on PennyAuctionScore for quite some time.
The PennyBurners Team wishes the Doofard Team the very best going forward.
