I could kick myself!
I thought several months ago about doing something like the incentive program we’re running her on the blog, but for some reason, I never followed through on it. Now, I feel like an idiot, for not having done it a long time ago!
The comments from members really helps when a new visitor stops by the blog. Nobody wants to be the first couple out on the dance-floor, right? And of course, some discussion in the comments helps build the community, as the members get to know each other a little better.
So we really want to thank everyone that’s been leaving their comments… it makes a difference. Keep it up!
On another topic, I visited a penny auction last night that I’d never been to before, and bought a bid pack to bid on a couple of Christmas presents for my nephews. Unfortunately, I didn’t follow my own advice, and get to know how things worked there before I started. My bids started evaporating quickly, and I needed to buy more.
But the auction was moving pretty quickly, and I was afraid I’d come back to find that I’d already lost. So I opened a new tab on my browser, and bought more bids in one tab, while bidding in the other.
Then, since that was working so well for me, I opened another tab to check out the final prices on the same item in previous auctions, and yet another to look at some of the other bidders. In no time, I had a half dozen tabs open, had spent 50 bids, and lost the auction while I was looking at past winners!
It really pays to “practice what you preach”! If I had just listened to my own advice, I’d have (a) saved a lot of bids, or (b) won the auction! L
Now, I’ll have to go fight the crowd to find a good buy on that game cartridge my nephew has his heart set on. I guess that’ll be my punishment.
I guess hindsight really is 20:20! That’s TWO reasons I need to kick myself!
