Penny Auctions

PennyBurners is proud to announce Space Antiques as our newest Official PennyBurners Verified Penny Auction Site!

This site is dedicated to transparency and honesty and has proven that by going through the PennyBurners Verification Process. (To read more about the verification process and what it signifies, go to the PennyBurners FAQ.)

There is a lot about Space Antiques that we love!

  1. Easy to use, intuitive design
  2. Fast & efficient auctions
  3. Great descriptions, and pictures
  4. Excellent explanation of auction types
  5. "Space Bidder" auto-bidder that makes bidding faster & more reliable (for those rare bathroom breaks) when two "Space Bidders" are loaded, they bid back and forth (almost instantly) until one runs out of bids.
  6. Always being able to see your bid balance!
  7. Having the bids placed in the "Space Bidder" deducted from your available balance so you do not over spend your bids, when you already have a set amount loaded in the "Space Bidder"
  8. Very quick communication & support
  9. Ability to earn free bids on social networking sites, referring friends, and sending in winner testimonials
  10. Real savings calculator & lots more!

Andy and Rob are great people, running an honest site. PennyBurners is very proud to have them verified and expect many of our users to discover all the great things about this site that we love!

Read the interview we had with Andy from Space Antiques:

Q: Tell us about SpaceAntiques.com:

A:  We are an innovative and exciting auction site committed to the entertainment factor. We want all users to have an experience that’s out of this world!

Q: What types of items do you usually auction?

A: We offer brand new sought after products such as iPods, iPads, cameras and netbooks. Also, we regularly have many special edition products that are not readily available in stores.

Q: How many auctions do you run in a given day?

A: We presently offer 6 auctions per day: 2 in the daytime and 4 in the evening. This can change as we adjust to the demand

Q: Why the name “SpaceAntiques”?

A: The name is derived from the concept that alien technology is old to them, but new to us humans–an alien’s antique is a human’s treasure.

Q: How much do bids cost?

A: Our bid prices range from $0.65 to $1.00.

Q: Are you currently offering any promotions?

A: We are currently offering the following promotions
1)    All new users receive 5 free bids upon registration.
2)    Join our FaceBook community and get 10 free bids
3)    Follow us on Twitter and get 3 free bids
4)    Also, for a limited time, we are giving an extra 10% of bids when users purchase our 100 or 250 bids pack. This additional 10% promotion will end Friday Aug.13.

Q: What kind of auction-types do you offer?

A: We currently have Standard penny auctions, Newbie auctions for new users, Manual auctions and Bids Back auctions. In the Bids Back auctions the 2nd place bidder gets back 50% of their bids and the 3rd place bidder receives back 100% of their bids at the end of the auction. We are also soon introducing for the first time, we think in the industry, a Free Bids type auction whereby all bidders get back 100% of their bids! Look out for it starting mid-August.

Q: Can you tell us more about your charity auctions and how you go about choosing the charity?

A: We intend to choose only reputable charitable organizations that are well known with great causes. We will surely have a charitable auction before the end of the year.

Q: What unique/special features does SpaceAntiques.com offer?  With so many penny auctions on the scene, why should penny auction bidders use your site?
A: We are aware that the penny auction industry is saturated, but unlike most of our competitors, we created our site from scratch. We developed a cutting edge technology that, we believe, is one of the most advanced auction systems in the world. Our innovative bidding assistant tool named the “SpaceBidder” dramatically increases the entertainment and strategies on our site. We also are creating different auction types that do not exist in the industry (i.e., our new “Bids-Back” type where 2nd place gets 50% bids back and 3rd place gets 100% back). Also we are seriously committed to maintaining fair play and transparency revealed by the fact that all bidding history is displayed in our ended auctions. Finally, we believe that our customer service is top tier and can compete with the best sites out there… AND we have NO SHIPPING costs!
Q: We know that the penny auction world is constantly evolving. What can bidders expect to see and experience from SpaceAntiques.com in the near future?

A: As previously mentioned, we will be soon introducing the “Free Bids” type auction. All the bids spent by users in this auction type are returned to them after the auction is finished. Your bids cost is free!

Q: It is clear from your desire to go through the PennyBurners Site Verification process that you are dedicated to honesty and transparency. Why is this important to you?

A: Transparency and ethics is of the utmost importance in all business models, not only in the auction industry. There is just no other way to run a business.

Q: Do you have a FaceBook and/or Twitter account that you would like bidders to know about?

A:  Yes

2)    Follow us on Twitter and get 3 free bids

Q: Is there anything else you want PennyBurners users to know?
