LincolnBidz.com has long been regarded as one of the most trust-worthy penny auction sites around, having been open for more than a year with good customer service, desirable products, and a commitment to honesty and transparency. The bidders of LincolnBidz even came to think of Ted and Kelly Brewer as friends. However, over the past month, communication has dwindled, shipping has slowed considerably, and LincolnBidz users have been voicing concern in the PennyBurners Forum.

As of almost three weeks ago, communication between LincolnBidz and their users, as well as communication between LincolnBidz and PennyBurners has stopped completely. Kelly Brewer’s last posts were on January 10th and 11th, each promoting either LincolnBidz , or their secretive new auction site, for which they were about to start Beta Testing. Since then, it seems she has dropped off the face of the earth.

Phone calls were made, voice-mails left, e-mails sent, and even FaceBook messages were left by the PennyBurners Team, but we’ve still not received any word from Ted or Kelly.

One PennyBurners user (Stuff4Me2Win) had an alternate number for Kelly and decided to call it:

“The only number I have for Kelly is apparently a work number. Last I talked with her, early Jan. she said that her Cell Phone wasn't working too well, and wasn't holding a charge.

I called her work and inquired about her well-being and they informed me that she was Ok, but she has been off work the last couple weeks due to kids being sick. The woman on the phone didn't elaborate, and I didn't want to pry. She said that she would let Kelly know I called.

I say we give her the benefit of the doubt.. Having sick kids can take it's toll on you. I just hope they are not seriously ill. Maybe we should keep them in our prayers, just in case..”

It was our hope that this was the case, as we had knowledge that Kelly’s children had been sick, with one child even having had surgery at the end of December/early January. We held out hope that all would turn out well, considering that Kelly was/is running LincolnBidz from home, is a full-time wife and mother, along with the fact that she has always been reliable in the past.

However, in thinking about the dozens of LincolnBidz users who have been left in the dark, we cannot go on in good faith any longer. We’ve always touted that no matter how “nice” someone is, and no matter the hardship they may be facing, when it comes to your money and financial well-being, the only one looking out for you is yourself. You must be aware of your dispute windows and act accordingly as they approach, otherwise, you'll be out of money - and answers.

LincolnBidz is a business, whether it’s run from a home or not, and LincolnBidz customers deserve some answers. The Verified status of LincolnBidz has thereby been revoked, secondary to lack of customer service and communication. We ask that our Verified Penny Auction Site owners uphold standards of excellence, and unfortunately, those standards have been dropped here.

It is with a heavy heart that we make this decision, as we like Ted and Kelly very much, but in the interest of being fair and unbiased, this was a necessary decision. We will continue to work with any users who are owed items from LincolnBidz, and will continue to try and reach Ted and Kelly for further answers. Complaints may be filed with the Texas Attorney General, the FTC, and the IC3.

LincolnBidz Meets With PennyBurners

The LincolnBidz owners, Ted & Kelly, came to Houston and met with PennyBurners over the last weekend! The meeting was used to share some of the things PennyBurners has on the horizon, along with some of the items the Verified Penny Auction, LincolnBidz has up-and-coming.

PennyBurners kicked things off by sharing what's brewing in our laboratory of wizards & elves and their cauldrons of awesomeness. What are those things? ********************** and *******************. More to come soon!

Ted and Kelly then shared their newest contributions to the penny auction community. We'd share all the details, but their lawyers looked like they haven't eaten in days, and the non-disclosure agreements were worded as such. Anyhow, trust us when we say, that this will absolutely change the penny auction world! It's also safe to say that this has been what many bidders have been asking for, for years!

The meeting took place during a breakfast-turned-dinner, with Ted and Kelly each making good use of their "Linky Assistants" while they took quick bathroom breaks. As for Katie and I... Depends...

The meeting progressed into the current state of penny auctions, and where they could go if nothing is changed. This conjured up images of the wicked witch and her flying monkeys bringing the penny auction community down the drain. Anyone got a tornado, or house we can borrow? Seriously, the media has not been fair to penny auctions lately, and it won't get better. What has LincolnBidz done to affect a positive outcome? Well, they have contacted their Attorney General, State Senator, and Congressman to discuss the gray area their business falls into, and to offer help on getting legislation. Unfortunately, until it's a problem for more people, they were told, the law makers would not be looking into it.

All lighthearted jokes aside, Ted and Kelly are absolutely warm, inviting and friendly. They are everything you would expect from their dozens of positive reviews across the internet. Ted was even sporting the LincolnBidz baseball cap, and they arrived in their electric "Linky" blue mobile command post, complete with marketing signage and loud speaker to spread the word about LincolnBidz. We think we even saw a T-shirt bazooka in the back seat. I hope we didn't let out all their marketing secrets, but we believe having more positive reviews than nearly any other penny auction will help them keep their edge. They are completely invested in this community, and should be looked at as leaders and examples of customer service and item fulfillment. They truly embody what PennyBurners wishes the entire industry embraced.

Before departing on our mint green Vespa, we added "LincolnBidz.com" to the back of the 150cc two-wheeled hellion, using white shoe polish. We expect this to counteract any marketing secrets divulged in this article.
